Matthew 16:5-12
Little Things that Corrode Your Faith

Small compromises can be just as dangerous as obvious sin. Using the image of leaven from Matthew 16, Jesus warned His disciples about the subtle, spreading influence of false teaching and unbelief. Just as a little yeast works through an entire batch of dough, a small compromise can quietly reshape how we think, how we act, and how we see God. The disciples had just witnessed Jesus feed thousands, yet they were still anxious about having enough bread. We often do the same thing, forgetting what God has already done when a new challenge arrives. The real danger is not just outward behavior but the slow erosion of our trust in who Christ truly is. Guarding your heart requires honest self-examination, repentance, and a commitment to walking consistently as the new creation God has made you to be.
